The piste down to the Montchavin chairlift runs past the residence and a shuttle bus service runs down to the village centre and on to Les Coches. Les Trois Glaciers restaurant and bar is an excellent addition to the résidence.
Montchavin (1250m) retains its farming heritage and smells! It is a very cute village with half a dozen or so restaurants, a couple of bars, a small supermarket, a cinema and a selection of shops. The recent Espace Paradisio indoor/outdoor swimming pool complex is a great addition to the village’s facilities.
The excellent Evolution 2 ski school operate in the village.
Access to the slopes is via the 4 man Montchavin chairlift or the Les Coches bubble. The amazing Vanoise Express cable car link from La Plagne to Les Arcs is just above the village. In total there are 425km of slopes to explore; one of the world’s biggest ski areas.
As well as the ski season the village enjoys a summer season in July and August with many of the lifts open and the village looks lovely with all the balconies covered in flowers.
Self drive; it is an approx 10-hour drive from the main channel ports.
By train; the nearest station is at Landry just a few kilometres down in the valley. In winter a direct Eurostar service runs from London to Bourg St Maurice.
By air; the airports serving the region are Chambery, Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble.
