Plagne 1800 is a former mining village that has maintained its village feel whilst becoming a fully fledged ski village. It has several ski shops, a small supermarket, a couple of good restaurants and the, ever popular, La Mine apres ski bar. A free shuttle bus links 1800 to the other high altitude la Plagne villages

La Plagne is one of France’s best known ski resorts. The amazing Vanoise Express cable car link to Les Arcs has created the joint Paradiski ski area; with 425 km of slopes this is one of the world’s biggest ski areas.
The lifts and the resort are also open in the summer months of July and August for activities such as walking, cycling, mountain biking, white water rafting and parapenting.

By car it is an approx 10 hour drive from the main channel ports. The nearest station is Aime la Plagne in the valley with a direct Eurostar service in the ski season. Chambery, Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble are the main airports serving the resort.
