A historic building that has been renovated to modern standards. This is a substantial property with 5 bedrooms, 2 living areas, large attached barn and bread oven Read more ...

The house is setback from the road and surrounded by it's garden and additional land. A few kms from the pretty villages of St Saud Lacoussiere and Mialet.

Downstairs there is a very large living room (70m2), with a kitchen and dining area to one side. The enormous beams used to build this old property are evident here, as in other rooms of the house. To one side is a large, feature fireplace with granite surround.

Behind this room is another, smaller living room (although still large at 45m2) with large glass doors on one end and a shower room to the other. A central staircase leads to the first floor, where there are 5 good sized bedrooms and another shower room. There is a toilet on each floor.

The attached barn is substantial and of the classic style for the region, with a mezzanine floor, originally used for storing hay. This is to the right of the house as you look from the front.

To the left of the house is a covered parking area, the roof of which connects the old bread oven with the house. This oven used to serve all the houses in the hamlet.

There is also a well just in front of the house. Beyond this is the garden, with a few mature trees to provide shade. A small pond sits to one side of the driveway.

To the rear of the property, the land has been left as a field.

The property has been well insulated and is heated by the fireplace and a double fronted inset wood burner, that provides heat to both living rooms. There are electrique heaters to supplement this. As is evident from the energy report, this is an economical house to run.

Drainage is via a septic tank, which was checked in 2013 and conformed to the regulations.
