This used to be two houses which have since been made into one so it's a bit higgledy-piggledy with lots of rooms, three separate staircases to the first floor. It would work well as two units, separate but together. It is perfectly habitable and has lovely attached gardens and some good outbuildings. It is in a little hamlet in the commune of Queaux, which is a popular holiday destination with lots of lovely countryside surrounding it and a good feeling of open space and relative isolation without being too far from the popular towns of L'Isle Jourdain, Chauvigny and Montmorillon. Set far off any main roads, this would make an ideal house for someone looking for some peace and quiet, especially if you've got lots of cats. From the front door of the house you come into a hallway which leads to the current dining room and the kitchen on the left. This dining room has an original stone fireplace which has been boarded up but could be re-opened. The kitchen is behind the dining room and is a compact room with a sink, and a back door leading to the garage and the back garden. One staircase leads from this kitchen upstairs to two bedrooms and a bathroom on this side of the house.

To the right of the hallway is the other side of the house which consists of a large dining kitchen, although ths room is now just used for special occasions; off this room is a little shower room with separate loo, a bedroom and a small sitting room. There s a beautiful staircase which leads upstairs to one huge bedroom which is the whole width of the house.

There are two more doors off the hallway, one of which is a large store room under the stairs and the other is the third staircase which now leads only to a landing, an attic space above the extension and the staircase up to the second floor attic, which is just an open space which could be renovated to make more bedrooms and bathrooms if you need them.
The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The back garden is more functional, providing a huge vegetable patch and a large chicken run while the front garden is planted with lots of lovely flowers and is where the family sit out and eat in summer. There are numerous outbuildngs both attached to the house and separate, including a garage, an open sided tin barn, a stone built outbuilding, formerly used to house animals.
In the valley of the Vienne, about 4km from both Queaux and Moussac this is a beautiful country spot. For shopping the nearest market towns are L'Isle Jourdain (9 km), Lussac-les-Chateaux (17 km) or for more comprehensive amenities Montmorillon (29 km), Chauvigny (30km) or Poitiers (40 km), where there's also an international airport and TGV railway station (takes 90 minutes to get to Paris). Limoges airport is 80 km away.
