This villa, located in the centre of Jussey, has long served as a large family home, with six bedrooms. Read more ...
After the sad passing of the parents two of the brothers have taken ownership of this house and completely renovated the property, turning it into two entities. On the façade picture you can see the large main door, which is straddled on each side by separate living areas, each with 3 bedrooms, living/dining area, fitted kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Both residences also have a large attic.
This large villa offers the opportunity to be used as a permanent or a holiday home with the option of renting out one side. The residence on the right hand side is currently occupied and is the nicer of the two, being better maintained. The residence on the left has been empty for about a year (one of the brothers moved away) and could use some TLC.
The large main door leads to a roomy passageway into the interior courtyard which offers plenty of space for parking. The barn is double sized with more than enough room for anything you might want to use it for and the garden, consider the town centre location, is of a reasonable size with a calm atmosphere. The courtyard also has access to a large Cave.
The large courtyard and the barn behind it, as well as the garden, are for communal use by both residences.
The villa is in great condition and does not need any work, the barn could use a little attention but is solid, and most importantly, dry.
The property features central heating, the electrics are in order and the plumbing is connected to the town sewage system so there’s no need for a septic tank.
The “Haute Saone”, part of France-Comté, colloquially known as ‘Le Grand Est Oublié’ has now become “The New Place” to be !
And not without good reason! Not only has it, seemingly, been forgotten by Paris but it’s never top of the list for the millions of tourists who flock to the French beaches, the Alps or other popular parts of the country, during their holidays. Over the last 10 - 20 years the local climate has become more Mediterranean but without the Mistral and the oppressive heat more and more common on the Côte D’Azur or the Atlantic. From a traveller’s perspective we are a reasonable 5 hour drive from Calais, 3 from Luxembourg and just 4 1/2 hours from Frankfurt, with Basel (2 hours) our nearest international airport with daily flights to the UK. Les Vosges, the Jura and the Alsace are no more than a 1 hrs drive and Dijon, very much the gastronomic capital of France, is just over an hour away. If you love farm lands and country side, rolling hills and a great deal of culture and history then I really recommend the Haute Saone. It’s very much possible that you’ll fall in love with this stunning and forgotten little piece of France.
