LOCATION Situated at the edge of a pretty hamlet but only a short distance from the popular village of Sommieres-du-Clain (approx 2km) which has a post office, bar, grocery shop, bakery, good bar/restaurant, chemist, opticians and doctors surgery and primary school. The popular market town of Civray is under 17kms away, which offers a market twice a week selling local produce. There is also a leisure centre with two heated swimming pools (one outdoor) and sauna, lovely walks and picnic areas down by the river that winds its way through the centre of the town. There are several bars and restaurants as well as a good selection of shops, banks etc and a small family-run cinema (films in both English and French). The historical city of Poitiers is about 39km away, which has a large range of retail outlets as well as an airport and train station (TGV) - 1h30 to Paris. An alternative airport is Limoges which is about 97km away.
