This is a spacious house with this amazing view; It would make an ideal lock up and leave holiday home but even better if you can stay here permanently. This house offers lots of living space and two good sized bedrooms. The garden is lovely and has the most wondrous view over the rooftops of this attractive village and beyond to the river Vienne and the beautiful countryside.

On the edge of the village of Queaux within easy walking distance of the boulangerie (baker) and two cafés where you can get drinks, lunch and dinner. A thriving artistic centre in the Maison de l'Art et du Terroir which hosts regular concerts is also in the heart of this gorgeous village as well as a further restaurant, the beach on the banks of the river and dynamic campsite where the village hosts live concerts every Friday night in July and August.

Poitiers airport is about 50km and Limoges is about 80km. Read more ...

Inside
You come into this lovely house through a part glazed door directly into the kitchen which is an excellent sized room. Two steps lead down to the interior hall which leads to the bathroom (with a new bath, wet room style shower, toilet and basin) and a separate second toilet. There is also a utility room which has a door to the garden which means it doubles as an excellent boot room. Straight ahead, through a beautiful stone arched doorway, is the huge and bright lounge, thanks to two sets of french windows leading out on to the terrace. There is a wood burning stove and plenty of room for a dining area as well as the cosy seating area around the fire and the television.

From the kitchen the beautiful turned staircase leads to the first floor where you find the first large bedroom and the second bedroom which is even bigger is up another flight of stairs to the second floor.

Outside
The garden is to the west side of the house but gets the sun all day. There are two lovely terraces where you can just sit and take in the beautiful view with a glass or two. There is a slightly tumbled down outbuilding which would make an excellent garage but does need a new roof and a separate garage outside the gates which is currently used for outdoor storage.

Location
Just on the edge of this popular village, you can walk down to the river where there is a beach for swimming and a campsite. The village itself has a bakery, a butcher, a brasserie, a 'Maison de l'Art et du Terroir' which is a sort of gallery for local artists, a hairdresser and a petrol station and wonderful rural shop which sells animal feed and plants as well as equipment and bits and bobs for the garden. Further afield, the towns of L'Isle Jourdain and Lussac les Châteaux are both 12 kilometres away, both lovely market towns offering all amenities, while Montmorillon is only 25 kilometres away. Infrastructure is excellent with Poitiers airport only 50 km away, the TGV railway station at Poitiers(Paris in 90 minutes) and Limoges airport is 80 km away and excellent roads if you prefer to drive down from the ferry ports.

There is a lot to do in the area, apart from the opportunities offered by the river Vienne which include canoeing, fishing and lovely riverside walks; there are many local markets, restaurants, châteaux and gardens to visit in the vicinity. Just 10 minutes by car will bring you to the market town of L’Isle Jourdain which besides its breathtaking viaduct over the river Vienne also has schools, water sports, swimming pool and tennis courts and all the shopping facilities you will need on a daily basis. If you are feeling daring you can do a bungee jump off the viaduct, or if not, you could just watch! The medieval market town of Chauvigny is about 20 minutes drive away, where you can explore the castle, ride on the velo-rail and watch the famous ‘Geants du Ciel’, the huge birds of prey who perform for you. Futuroscope is about 40 minutes by car and monkey valley at Romagne, snake island at La Trimouille and the crocodile planet at Civaux are all within an easy drive.
