Just a stone's throw from the coastal river Hérault, a cycle track allows for beautiful walks or bike rides. The beach of Grau d'Agde is only 15 minutes away. All the shops are within easy reach, as well as restaurants, bistros and ice cream parlours, just a few steps away.
The town of Agde has a remarkable natural heritage. A diversity of landscapes that makes the richness and uniqueness of the city of Agathé Tyché.
Situated at the mouth of the Hérault river, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Canal du Midi, it offers 14 km of fine sandy beaches, including one, unique in the Mediterranean, of black sand at the foot of the Conque lava cliffs, vestiges of volcanic activity. The underwater path allows you to discover all the richness of the fauna and flora of the sea bed.
On the right bank of the river, opposite the fishing village of Grau d'Agde, the Tamarissière, which owes its name to a tamarisk plantation. The pine forest that runs along the beach was planted in 1782, in order to combat the silting up of the river, i.e. more than 2 centuries ago! Just behind it, a green lung of 600 hectares of natural area rich in natural and plant species.
At the other end of the commune is the Bagnas Nature Reserve and its 600 hectares are home to more than 240 species of birds.
Finally, dominating the municipal territory, Mont Saint-Loup, and next to it Mont Saint-Martin, are today part of the "Green Belt", set up in the heart of the Agatha Archipelago. Formed by a volcanic eruption 740,000 years ago, Mont Saint-Loup offers, from the top of its 113 metres, a superb panorama over the town, the coastline and the Etang de Thau.
