This charming and increasingly popular village itself is very well located within walking distance, approximately 1km above St Martin de Belleville and therefore the world’s largest ski area.
The free ski bus passes through the village on a daily basis, meaning you don’t even need the car if you can adhere to the timetable! It is also possible to ski back to the village via a stunning off-piste route depending on the snow conditions and ability. The views from the village take in the well-known “Cochet” mountain above St Martin and also the outstandingly beautiful “Vallee des Encombres” with its dramatic steep mountains.
During the summer, the peaceful village is a great base for nature walks in the valley and also for some of the more adrenaline-fuelled activities such as mountain biking, via ferrata and endless road bike routes. It is also home to one of the livelier village fetes in August! Accessing the village is straightforward with Moutiers situated 21km (~20 minutes) down the road and with it the bigger supermarkets and other amenities such as the TGV/Eurostar terminal during the winter months. Les Menuires is just 8km away up the hill and Val Thorens 18km up the valley road.
