Nestled in the countryside in a small hamlet. Very peaceful and yet very close to nearby village with all amenities. Well placed for Normandy & Brittany alike. Read more ...
Starting with the garden - fenced/hedged on all boundaries, with gravel driveway and ample parking. Around the house, mature planting and lawns and lovely patio area - great for those summer bbq's. Plus your very own veggie garden. To the far side an old bread oven, which used to supply the whole village with its bread! This could easily be converted, or just a 'posh shed' - it even benefits from having electricity. The garden then continues off to the rear of the property, with orchard, meadowland and even a stream running through - Fantastic.
The house is laid out as follows:
Ground floor - Kitchen/diner with double doors out to the garden. Bathroom and a cave (cellar). 1st floor - Good size lounge, with bags of character as many original beams have been retained as has the granite fireplace now housing a log-burner. A separate w.c and a bedroom/study.
First floor - Two really nice double bedrooms again retaining lots of character and a family bathroom.
There is an attached garage.
This is what I would describe as a very flexible home, perfectly habitable but with scope to add to it should you need to. Great if you are looking for a small-holding as there is just the right amount of land. Viewing is highly recommended, to see just how much this property has to offer.
As for the area: the local town of St Sever has all amenities, bank, doctors, supermarket, schools etc and yet only 15 km away is the much larger town of Vire. There is then St Sever forest for those of you that like cycling/walking and just a few kms away Lake Dathée with some of the best views around, lots of watersports and 18 hole golf course. 30 minutes drive to the coast and only 2 ½ hours by train to Paris from Vire station. Not forgetting just over an hour to ferry ports or airports with great links to UK/Ireland and Jersey alike.
