What’s not to love about La Côte d’amour? Of the many seaside villages situated either on rocky cliffs or expansive stretches of sandy beach, including quaint Piriac-sur-mer or posh La Baule, I chose to live in Pornichet. Historically a fishing village, it now has a population of 10,000 people who live in houses, grande époque villas or sea-view apartments and enjoy a covered 7 day a week market, music, nautical and equestrian events. With running and walking trails right out the back door and open air cafes on the sandy beach it is a nature lover’s dream city. See you at the beach!
I am originally from the state of Michigan in the United States. After many years as an attorney specializing in construction law, my husband and I decided to move to his home country. My favorite past time is village hopping and being outside with our Vizsla. I love walking through the walled city of Guérande and through its surrounding salt fields, to the villages of Chaumière (thatch-roof) houses and along their canals of the bird- filled Brière wetlands or even along the narrow stone streets of ocean-side stone houses with colorful shutters breathing in the salty air from the Atlantic coast just around the corner.View Pays-de-la-Loire Information Homepage
