About our area

I live near to Excideuil, covering surrounding communes reaching over to the Corrèze and Haute-Vienne border in the east, and westwards around Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Excideuil, in the northern part of the Dordogne, the Perigord Vert, is a small market town with a beautiful château and lively weekly market. La Loue runs close by to the town and offers great walking and scenery. The stunning Gorges de L’Auvézère around St Mesmin, Genis and Savignac Ledrier are not to be missed, perfect for hiking and canoeing. It’s a region of unspoiled scenery split by fast moving streams, rolling hills and great rocky plateaus, with some of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’ close by. And then, of course, there’s Perigueux. Just 30km away, made up of the Medieval town and the Roman town, with great shopping, bars and restaurants too. Easy access to Bergerac, Bordeaux and Limoges airports makes the area very accessible.

About us

I moved to France way back in 2005, with my husband Mike and my then 15 year old daughter. We settled in Coussac Bonneval in the Haute Vienne where we had a pear orchard that we worked for several years. We were then lucky enough to join the Leggett Immobilier team, working as a couple, helping many clients find their French property, many of whom are still friends to this day. In 2018 we headed off to Spain. After 18 months, however, we realised it was never going to be home for us, we missed France so much, and decided to return to France and settle in Excideuil, in the Dordogne. We’re so happy to be back home in France; I’m working once again for Leggett Immobilier, doing a job I love, and looking forward to introducing you to this wonderful area and helping you to find your home in France.
