I love France and one of the main criteria when I decided to move there, was that it needed to be close to England as I wanted family and friends to visit as often as possible. We wanted to be an hour from several ferry ports and Normandy fitted the bill. We discovered the Swiss Normandy by accident but fell in love with it straight away. Unlike the majority of Normandy, the Swiss Normandy is very hilly. It has lovely wooded areas, gorges, several rivers and is famed for its beautiful scenery, wonderful food and cidreries as well as outdoor pursuits. It offers wonderful walks to suit all levels of ramblers and there are plenty of sports opportunities to satisfy the more adventurous or the adrenaline junkies. And if physical activity is not your thing, then there are plenty of chateaux, brocantes and restaurants to visit and enjoy. Caen, a large university town is 40 minutes away from us and a great train service will take you to Paris in two hours for an average of 20 euros!
I was a senior manager in a large international company for many years and decided that the corporate scene was no longer for me. I acquired over the years the skills necessary to renovate properties and Myriam (my French partner) and I decided to buy a manor house in France and do it up. French people have made us feel welcome right from the start and we have fallen in love with the area we live in and the lifestyle it offers. We bought our property through Leggett and want to help others find and live their dream like we did.View Normandy Information Homepage
