In Central Brittany, you will be sure to receive a warm welcome from the Breton locals and property prices are amongst the most affordable in France. My part of the department of Côtes-d’Armor has the big advantage of not being too far from anywhere - just 45 minutes drive to the beautiful north coast and about an hour to the southern coast whilst having great access to the major towns of Guingamp and Saint Brieuc. There are great value properties to be found away from the coast, located in the beautiful countryside and quaint villages. There are regular and inexpensive flights such as from London (Stansted) and East Midlands to Dinard airport via Ryanair and others to Brest and Rennes. For those who are travelling from the UK, the ferry is another popular choice, the Côtes-d’Armor being served by Brittany Ferries to Saint Malo and Roscoff. There are also daily flights and ferries from the Channel Islands. With great sea, air and road links to the UK, fantastic fresh local produce and beautiful unspoilt countryside, Brittany is quite simply a wonderful place to be.
I was born in the UK and had spent all my working life there until I had the opportunity to set up a new USA office for the company I was working for at the time. Myself and my husband lived on the East Coast for 3 years and visited a lot of fantastic places all over the USA, including a few trips up to Canada as well. When it was time to go back to the UK we both felt like we needed a complete change and to feel like we were moving forward rather than back. I was also looking for a less stressful lifestyle with more time to pursue my many craft hobbies and gardening. I have not looked back for a moment.View Brittany Information Homepage
