This is one of four individual plots situated in a slightly elevated position on a level terrace presently covered with cherry trees. Although some of them would have to be removed to make room to build you will be able to keep some for privacy if you wish.
On the outskirts of Céret and the foothills of the Vallespir, this is an ideal location with a combination of hills, a quiet residential area in the process of development, within and walking distance of the centre of one of the liveliest towns in the area. The access road to this part of Céret winds up into the hills behind serving a few country houses. Each plot has its own driveway from the roadway and the price includes the connection points for all services to the plot (Connecting the house to these services is at your charge, usually included in the cost of construction).
Céret, on the edge of the Roussillon plain, is known for its subtropical climate – probably the best in the region, due to its sheltered position in the foothills of the Vallespir where it is protected from the strong winds for which this area is also famous. The cherries ripen here earlier than anywhere else in France (the end of April this year!) and are celebrated with the Fête des Cerises at the end of May.
Only half an hour from the sandy beaches of Argelés Plage and the picturesque ports of the Cote Vermillion, Céret is also only 10 minutes from the A9 autoroute and half an hour from the nearest airport at Perpignan (Ryanair). The town of Perpignan, on the river Tet, is the capital of the department of Pyrenées Orientales is well served with shopping centres and administrative services.
In the foothills of the Pyrenées Céret is also an ideal base for exploring the mountains, on foot or by car. The mild winter climate makes them accessible all year round as there is very little snow.
