| This good sized, building plot, on a gentle south facing slope, with a total area of 1056m² is situated on the edge of the village of Banyuls Dels Aspres on the Roussillon plain only a few minutes from Le Boulou. The plot already has services laid on and the roads and pavements already have tarmac. The edges of the road are planted with young trees and shrubs. This is a private estate and the plots are free of any restraints as to builder. This means that you can choose you own design, employ your own architect and decide on your preferred layout. Don’t let this put you off, as there are English speaking companies that can help you. The only restrictions are that the surface area of the actual building doesn’t exceed 250m² plus the usual limitations related to the distance of the house from the boundaries of the plot. Build with the main living areas towards the back of the plot, as the French often do, to make the most of the lovely view and keep your patio private. Le Boulou, on the river Tech is a few minutes drive for supermarkets, a commercial centre, secondary schools, bars and restaurants. The access to the A9 is situated just outside Le Boulou. The historic city of Perpignan, with its narrow streets grouped around its huge chateau, built by the kings of Majorca, is less than half an hour’s drive away. It is the departmental capital and so is the centre for administration, as well as having all the facilities and services that you would expect from a larger city. The nearest sandy beaches are at Argelés Plage from where the beach stretches for miles northward. South along the coast brings you to the little coves and fishing ports of the ‘Cote Rocheuse’ which stretch form Collioures, known for its art galleries, to the Spanish Border. Continue over the border into Spain and the Costa Brava. Golf at St Cyprien. Heading inland from Banyuls dels Aspres along the Tech valley you arrive quickly in the bustling market town of Céret, famous for its early cherries and the modern art museum, of international renown. Céret has a wonderful market every Saturday. Continue up the valley and you are quickly into the first mountains of the Pyrenees dominated by the Canigou – sacred mountain of the Catalans. Perfect hiking country, with something for people of all levels of fitness and enthusiasm, from a two day trek to a gentle stroll. |
