RSS feedsWhat are News Feeds? What is HOUSEHOUND© ?
News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and video in one place, as soon as its published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from. Feeds are also known as RSS. There is some discussion as to what RSS stands for, but most people plump for 'Really Simple Syndication'. In essence, the feeds themselves are just web pages, designed to be read by computers rather than people. HOUSEHOUND© is our RSS house feed direct to your pc, showing you whats new, as soon as we have it. Why are we using them at Leggett Immobilier? There are several reasons: 1. They allow our clients to see within an hour if we have entered a house on the system that could interest them. See below for the list of HOUSEHOUND© RSS feeds we have 2. They allow us to syndicate our houses to other estate agency portals 3. We think they are cool... How do I 'read' a feed? Either get an RSS reader, or most likely, use Firefox, Safari or IE7 to subscribe for you, directly into your favourites. We'll try to create a video showing how it is done soon. OK! Sign me up for HOUSEHOUND© , what do I do now? For a general, all properties, all prices, all departments and last 40 added HOUSEHOUND© feed, go to most pages and click on the orange feed icon in your browser toolbar somewhere to subcsribe. For more specific HOUSEHOUND© feeds, go here www.frenchestateagents.com/feeds, click on the feed you want, it will display itself like a primitive webpage and you can subscribe from there. Enjoy!
