Villemartin is a very popular hamlet that is south facing and overlooks the valley towards Courchevel in the 3 Valleys ski resort. It is a lively village with a strong year-round population. The roads are kept clear during the winter and there is a regular school bus service. Villemartin has the longest amount of sunshine apart from its neighbouring village Tincave due to its favourable orientation & altitude.
There are no shops or bars in the village but there is easy access to Bozel which is 3.5 km by road. However, there is a van that comes to the village twice a week with fresh bread, butter, pastries, milk, eggs, etc. Bozel is the closest village with a full variety of commerces that are open year round.
There is also a beautiful trailhead that goes down through the forest directly to Bozel. It is a single track and wonderful for hiking up and down which takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
There is an abundance of trailheads to choose from for hiking and mountain biking which allows you to leave from your doorstep without having to drive.
