Well, being biased, I am going to boast a little here as my part of the Dordogne truly is stunning. If you have never been here before then you are missing something special - after all, it’s not by chance that these cliffs and valleys have been inhabited since prehistoric times. For tourism and leisure, you will not run out of options from cave paintings to fortified cliffside castles to luxury chateau gardens. For foodies there are regional produce markets in one photogenic medieval village or another just about every day of the week. Walking, fishing, canoeing, horse riding, ballooning – also catered for; also scenic. Truffles, walnuts, sunflowers, film makers, UNESCO, Sarlat, Beynac, Domme – it’s all here. When you arrive you’ll pinch yourself; but before you leave home, let me know what you’re looking for and I’ll do my best to help you find it whilst you’re here.
We arrived in the Perigord Noir 13 years ago and were able to find and buy a slice of paradise in a little commune that nestles within the valley of the five chateaux near Sarlat. We have enjoyed this retreat as our holiday home for many years and have now decided to make it our permanent residence. Having previously worked as an estate agent for 15 years and being as passionate about this region’s hidden treasures as it’s well-known ones, it seemed a good fit to work towards assisting others to pursue their own dreams of buying property in this gorgeous part of the Dordogne in south-west France.View Aquitaine Information Homepage
