About my area

I live on the outskirts of a friendly village in the northern part of Deux-Sevres, one of the departments in the Poitou-Charente region. I was drawn to this area for its practical advantages: it enjoys mild winters and warm summers being south of the Loire river, has good transportation links to airports, TGV stations, and ferries, and offers great value for property and land prices. And I absolutely love living in France! Since purchasing back in 2003, I've discovered many other reasons to be pleased that I chose this region. The landscape is incredibly diverse, ranging from open plains to picturesque countryside and waterways leading to fabulous beaches and coastal towns. There's an abundance of attractions to explore, including local chateaux, wines, and renowned tourist destinations like Puy du Fou and Futuroscope. There are also countless simple pleasures to be found in and around the village. Family and community values remain strong, the weather is kinder and warmer, the people are welcoming, and, of course, there's the incredible food and wine. Throughout the year, there are plenty of events and local festivals, offering ample opportunities to become part of the community. This area is brimming with friendly people, lovely scenery and historic charm and it’s just waiting to be explored!
