About my area

I live in a small village just outside Carcassonne in the midst of the lovely Aude countryside, surrounded by vineyards, and with mountain views in every direction. There is so much on offer in Carcassonne: the medieval city, the walled town, the bars and restaurants, the quirky individual shops, the modern out-of-town shopping areas and even a beautiful lake with beaches and water sports. Add to that the proximity of the Mediterranean beaches, the Black Mountains and the Pyrenees and you will never be short of things to do, or new places to explore. The unspoilt towns and villages, the friendliness of the locals and the sunny climate make it an ideal place to live.

About me

When my daughters left home for university my partner and I decided it was time we had a change too! We left behind our busy professional life in the UK and moved to a renovated farmhouse in the Charente. After nine very pleasant years we wanted to explore further afield, and found ourselves drawn to the longer summers and the Mediterranean climate. Carcassonne and the Aude have so much to offer, and we feel very lucky to have found a house here. We love discovering the area and becoming part of a new community. Moving to a new country is a big step for anyone and now that I know the ropes I am delighted to have the chance to help other people find their “dream home” in the sunny south of France.
