There are many outdoors activities including kayaking, horse riding, flying & hang gliding lessons. There's a superb Spa treatment centre at Civaux. Lot's of 'arty' opportunities including Chinese calligraphy, bookbinding and writers' classes at Montmorillon - the Cité L'écrit. Poitiers airport is less than an hours drive away; Limoges airport just over an hour. The TGV is available at Poitiers to take you to Paris in 90 minutes.
