Attic:
The main staircase from the landing outside bedrooms 1 and 2 continues up to the attic, which covers the entire area of both houses. Above house 1, it is one enormous room with two windows to the front and a small window to the back. It has exposed beams which were reclaimed from the abbey opposite when the house was being built. A doorway leads through a stone wall to the attic of house 2. This is one large room with a small servant’s bedroom in one corner. The servants’ staircase leads down from here.
All of the attic rooms need renovation but could make an additional four bedrooms and bathroom.
Outside:
There is a private courtyard outside the kitchen door, which is not overlooked by any neighbouring properties. This leads to the back door of the garage and two sheds. The garage houses the boiler and plumbing for washing machine and has an automatic door to the street.
