There is even space for a small pool! | This semi detached village property is situated on the edge of the village of Sorede in the Albères, only about 15 minutes from the coast, so you get the best of both worlds – some very accessible mountains, and the beach, making this lively little town very much sought after.
The property has been recently renovated to provide first floor accommodation consisting of a roomy sitting room, a bright kitchen ( not fitted) there good sized bedrooms, one with en suite bathroom. Beyond this and through the second garage is a covered terrace with a closable room which has been conceived for a summer kitchen.
The covered terrace leads to a small enclosed garden area where there is just enough space for a small pool.
Sorede is one of a string of small towns running along the foot of the Albères hills, and is one of the nearest to the sea. There are lots of lovely walks into the hills here and the area is a delight for botanists and bird watchers. The proximity to the sea gives the area a very mild climate where exotic plants can flourish.
The nearest coast is at Argelés Plage or Le Racou which has a long strip of fine sandy beaches. Towards the Spanish border are a series of small ports separated by cliffs and rocky coves which continue over the border as far as Roses on the Costa Brava.
The departmental capital of Perpignan is a short drive away for all shopping facilities and administrative tasks. Perpignan has a fine castle overlooking the town, once a palace of the kings of Majorca.
Inland in about 20 minutes you reach the Vallespir region, starting at Céret, the foothills of the Pyrennées. This is a lovely area for hiking and for exploring the little mountain villages and valleys. Céret itself is a well known town famous for its cherries and for its modern art museum.
