This unusual, renovated, stone house, situated in a very small country village in the foothills of the Pyrenees, has already been used as a holiday property and has good rental potential. With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a good sized private garden and a pool, it offers accommodation for up to 6 people. Only 20 minutes from the Mediterranean coast it has a good booking history and is can be sold furnished ready to let. It would also be suitable for all year round living for a small family.
The house is situated on a quiet street close to the centre of this tiny village (120 permanent inhabitants) in the Aspres area of the Pyrennées Orientales. The entrance is at street level with stairs down to the main living area and stairs up to the bedrooms. The staircase is a wide spiral in what was apparently originally a huge well! The living area consists of a big sitting/dining room with French windows onto a terrace and a fireplace with an insert type woodburner. The separate fitted kitchen is separate and the units are new. It has a door to the exterior and access to a bathroom with bath, WC and hand basin, with plumbing for a washing machine. The first floor has 3 bedrooms, of which two are double and one is single with a mezzanine sleeping platform. The shower room is newly installed and has a shower, hand basin and WC. Outside there is a good sized garden with a terrace in front of the house which has a pergola for summer shade, a lawn, a pool (9m x 12m), with alarm, a side garden used for games and utility area, with a barbecue and a small stone garden hut and a well which supplies water for the garden. A shallow ravine runs along one side of the garden and the other side has a high wall up to street level. There is a gate from the street directly into the garden. The village of Torderes is situated among the vines in a shallow valley not far from Llauro which has basic shops and a bar. The Village of Fourques, in the other direction, also has shops and bars. Thuir is only 10km for bigger shops and supermarkets, and Perpignan is about 20 minutes.
