The house is in good condition throughout and well insulated. Villalongue dels Monts is at the foot of the beautiful Albères hills only 16km from the nearest Mediterranean beaches at Argelés Plage. This friendly village has a shop, bar boulangerie etc as well as a primary school. Less tourisitic than its better known neighbours, Soréde and Laroque des Albères it has the same easy access to the beaches, Perpignan and the Pyrenees. the A9 motorway is only 10 minutes drive along a good road. If sitting on the beach is not your cup of tea there is plenty t do in this area, with the historic town of Perpignan with its magnificent fort tovisit as well as excellant shopping facilities, Céret, a charming market town where you can while away an hour or two in a pavement café, under the plane trees,or the lovely rocky coastline from picturesque Collioures to the Spanish border, all within a short drive. The Alberes Hills offer many lovely walking routes all with spectacular views, or furthr inland there are the foothills of the Pyrenees themselves, starting with the Canigou, for more serious walking.
