This lovely stone house, a renovated longère, is situated in the heart of the countryside near the medieval village of Rochefort en Terre in southern Morbihan, only 30 minutes from the South Brittany coast. Recently renovated in a charming farmhouse style to give comfortable family accommodation it has superb views south across the valley of the river Arz and the hillside opposite, across gently sloping south facing fields. An exceptional situation in one of the best locations in the Morbihan.
In a tiny hamlet with only two other houses, this stunning detached stone house has its own driveway access and a large private garden, already planted with mature hedges and trees. The boundary to the south has been left open to make the most of the lovely view south. The accommodation consists of, on the ground floor, a big living/dining room with a huge stone fireplace, exposed beams and stone walls; a partly separated kitchen with fitted and free standing units including a cooker hood. Outside, there is a stone workshop, divided into two rooms with an open loft, a stone laundry room with a sink and a WC, and a stone wood store. In the garden there is a stone bread oven and a small greenhouse. Stone steps lead to a large attic currently used for storage, above the ground floor bedroom. This room could be converted to extra living space with a staircase form the bedroom below it. Rochefort en Terre, 5 minutes drive or 40 minutes pleasant country walk, perched high on a stony ridge, is one of the most attractive villages in Brittany. Famous for its art galleries and craft shops and its chateau, it also has a good choice of restaurants and bars. The lovely sandy beaches of the south coast are only half an hour away and the little market town of Malestroit, on the Nantes Brest canal, with a good market and general shopping facilities, is about 10 minutes. The climate in this area is very soft and this is one of the sunniest and warmest areas of Brittany making it ideal for holidays or for all year round living.
