Alison Shore, Independent Agent, says: | Once in a lifetime opportunity! Situated on the world famous Utah Beach. Normandy. Fantastic family home, B&B, Gites and a D-day Museum.
Within such an outstanding and enviable position with views across the dunes and out to sea. Leisurely strolls lead to the beach, restaurants and an absolute wealth of history.
The property is quietly tucked away and surrounded by almost an acre of its own beautiful gardens. There is plenty of scope to add a swimming pool for example (with permission of course) and games areas, perhaps even a small camping ground.

| This location is one of the most sought after on the coasts of Normandy, opportunities simply don’t come up like this one very often. My own first words to you would be grab this opportunity with both hands, come and visit, don’t delay. I simply can’t fit all of the description in so please be in touch and I can provide much more.
Currently the property offers 3 individual gites and has provided B&B in the main house. There is potential to create at least one more gite and also more rooms in the main house using the unconverted space already there. There is room to grow!
If all this isn’t enough the property has its own D-Day museum with thousands of pieces lovingly collected over numerous years and kept pristine and on show to visitors from a Tour company who lunch here every day.
The Utah Beach Museum is only a five minute walk from here. A short walk from the Museum is the Roosevelt Café, here in 1944 stood a small fisherman’s cottage, this was taken over by the German Todt Organisation and set up as a Communication Post by them, to the rear of the house they built an underground Bunker which now houses a collection of US Navy and Signal Corps Radios and other wartime items. The Café & Bar is open everyday. HISTORY: On D-Day, June 6th 1944, some of the first troops to land on the beach behind the house were from the U.S. 4th Infantry Division linking up with Paratroopers of the U.S. 101st Airborne, liberating the house and village. Most guests come to Normandy to see the Invasion Beaches and the many Battle Sites made famous in Spielberg’s “Saving Private Ryan” and “Band of Brothers”, and the epic film, “The Longest Day”. Five minutes drive away is Brecourt Manor where Lt. Winters and some men of Easy Company 506th took out the four howitzers at the Gun Battery which was firing onto Utah Beach on D-Day morning, also the memorial where Lt.Meehan's C47 crashed, (Lt.Meehan was Easy Company’s Commander).
Apart from the Historical Battle Sites there are many activities local to suit all tastes from Horse Riding, Golf, Scuba Diving, and Fishing, there are also indoor and outdoor Swimming Pools at Carentan and Quad Biking not far away so there's plenty to keep both adults children happy. If you would like to travel further you can reach Portbail in about 40 minutes by car if you wish to get the Ferry and visit Jersey for a day, Mont St. Michel is a very popular attraction and is only about one hour from here. Carentan Rail Station is close by and there are 8 trains a each day that run to Paris, it is possible to catch the 8am train and be back at Utah Beach for 8pm for dinner after a day in Paris! Every Monday is the Market in Carentan, which is very popular with Locals and Tourists alike, this Market travels and can be seen in other local towns throughout the week.
The vendors are quite happy to provide an inventory, items on which can be negotiated seperately, should you wish. Do please take a look at the photographs above. The accommodation and grounds are first class.
