About my area

My area is Brittany( Morbihan/Cotes d’Amour) Its central to all. Only 40 minutes from the north and west coastline , with miles of stunning sandy beaches , coastal walks and leisure activities, from surfing in Quiberon, kite surfing in Damagaon ,water skiing on the lake at Ploermel, or leisurely woodland walks discovering the forest of Broceliande and the ancient tales of King Arthur.. All these facilities are less than an hour from central Brittany. Not to mention the historic medieval towns of Josselin and Vannes who host the Bastille day festivals every year. The Summer months are a hive of activity from Rock and Classical music festivals every weekend to daily markets in most villages offering home grown organic local produce . Attractions for children and adults alike are also only a short car ride away with Cobac Park set in acres of beautiful woodland and Kingo land within an hours drive. Food is always on the menu in Brittany, infamous for its local cider, gallettes and crepes that are available in almost all restaurants and absolutely delicious. About me

We bought our home in 2004 as a holiday home with a 2 year plan of moving to Brittany as a permanent home. After spending many years visiting France we were very sure of the area we wanted to be and of our decision to move. We wanted a better life for our family and after meeting locals we fell in love with their family ethic and values, not to mention the lovely food. In 2006 we were here. I was three months pregnant with our second child, our first child was six. My initial concerns about integration and more importantly if my daughter would make new friends and learn the language, soon evaporated as the local community were extremely supportive and after a nail biting (me) first day at her new school with lots of tears (me) she appeared at the school gates skipping towards me with a huge grin ear to ear. Twelve years on , we are still “ living the dream “ France has it all, we love it! I joined Leggett to help others experience Brittany and grab their little piece of paradise.
